SOHO

Soho covers the area which has as its' "corners", four tube stations - Tottenham Court Road, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, and Oxford Circus. It has been a haven for refugees from all over the world since the Great Fire of London in 1666. The Greeks, French, Italians, Germans, Chinese and Jews have all settled here, giving the area its rich cultural heritage.
There is much to see and do in Soho. First, you can watch some of the most popular shows in London (like Mamma Mia, Les Miserables, Blood Brothers) in various famous theaters. You will see everything from mainstream musicals to some smaller "fringe" shows. Second, you can find either a club or a record store that meets your musical taste from jazz thru blues to house, garage and techno.
Third, you can shop til you drop in one of the best areas for shopping in London. As well as the mainstream areas such as the Trocadero at Piccadilly, Oxford Street and Charing Cross Road, there is a wealth of smaller specialist stores, especially in the Carnaby Street and Old Compton Street areas. Fourth, London is the gay capital of the UK and Gay Soho lies at the very heart of this, with the most famous part being around Old Compton Street. Lastly, Soho is renowned for its "Adult Entertainment" in its Redlight District.
